Thank You, Grace Lutheran, For Helping me Support the Race for the Cure

(On Saturday, July 30 at 8 am, Grace will host a garage sale raising money for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure. The Garage sale's organizer, Januari Leo, writes to thank the church for its support.)

I am so proud to be walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure this coming November as a part of the team, SAndie’s Angels. Andie Loftus, one of my best friends who I have known since I was five years-old, was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. It was a rough time for her and her family; her son was an infant at the time, and not knowing if she would be around to see him grow up was a nightmare that no parent wants to face. She fought hard and came out on top; she’s cancer free and working hard to stay that way. This will be her second year to walk, and her team continues to grow.

60 miles over three days is a breeze compared to the money I need to raise in order to walk! $2,300 is the minimum required to participate, and I’m doing everything I can to reach my goal. I will be having a “garage sale” (minus the garage!) on Saturday, July 30 from 8AM-12PM in the Grace Lutheran parking lot. All proceeds will go towards my walk. I encourage everyone to attend; friends have donated some pretty great stuff thus far. If you would like to donate items, I’d be happy to come take them off your hands. Please email me at [email protected], or you can drop it off the morning of. I’ll be out there by 7AM to set up. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please visit www.the3day.org, and search for Januari Leo.

Thank you so much, Grace Lutheran Church, for supporting me in my efforts! I look forward to providing you with a positive update!

-Januari Leo
